I have an HP Pavilion DV4T-1200SE laptop that originally came with Windows Vista x64. I've since installed Windows 7 x64, and while the laptop runs fine but I positively cannot get it. The battery doesn't charge at all and does not appear (comes up as not detected) when I run any analysis. So I searched the forums and tried the following - Removing the battery drivers and reinstalling (without the battery connected).
Hi, I'm having issues with battery charging and my Windows 7. When booting, the battery is detected in BIOS and charging (charge light is glowing, not blinking). As soon as the computer boots off my HDD and Windows loads, the charge light starts to blink, indicating that the battery is not charging. In Windows, the battery meter displays 'no battery detected' or 'plugged in and not charging'. At first I thought my battery was simply getting old, but out of accident I forgot to plug the AC adapter in and the computer ran off the battery for ~1.5h, even though Windows didn't recognise a battery. This still applies, which I haven't found a solution to yet.
I've tried running the hardware off another Win7 copy and the same thing happens. Seiko Smart Label Printer 200. I haven't had time to try Linux or WinXP yet, since I own neither. I've also tried uninstalling the ACPI Battery Control in the Device Manager, but without success. Any suggestions would be great, as I haven't found any forum posts similar to this.

Look closely at this point. If jiggling the cord at this point causes it to charge and when you leave it alone it stops, the problem would be the contacts inside the port.
