Hp Proliant Ml350 G6 Review

Hello all, Help will be greatly appreciated. We have got new hp proliant 350g6 server with 4 x 300gb hard drives with HP Smart Array P410i/256MB Controller (RAID 0/1/1+0/5/5+0). My problem is that I never done RAID5 configuration till now. So with help of hp smart start cd I managed to setup it as raid 5 but I am not sure whether I did correctly or not.

Since HP SmartStart CD went the way of the dodo bird before Windows 2012. Free Download Picture Style Canon 5d Mark Ii Cinema Cafe.

In this regard I have 2 questions 1. When I installed win server2003, when I go to disk management C drive shows as 838gb, is this right? I want to configure these hard drives as drive C:(60gb) drive (240gb) on raid5, how can I do this pls? Thanks in Advance Kiran.

Sounds like you're not in Production yet so you can probably re-install the server. Hp Software For Printers. Question #1: a single 838GB disk visible in Disk Mangler sounds about right for a 4x 300GB Disk RAID 5.

You get 3 of the disks worth of capacity, so 900GB less formatting efficiency/rounding, therefore 838GB is about right. Queston #2: In your install attempt, you missed a spot in Smart Start where you indicate how large to make the System Volume and so Smart Start used the default of using the entire raid volume. You don't have to re-create the array, but at this point you can: option 1) re-install the O/S beginning with Smart Start, paying closer attention and indicate 60GB where it asks for the volume size, or option 2) use a server re-partitioning software to resize your system volume to 60GB Once you have your O/S on the 60GB system volume, create your desired drive in Disk Manager. If this server is not in Production, I would opt for the re-install.

Andrew this is no reflection on you, what so ever.and the comments are not guided at you. Unfortunately an inconsiderate person Juan has made personal comments in your post, sorry Andrew to use your post for this but at times one must take the time and educate misguided individuals like juan quesada. Juan you should not use peoples posts to forward such cowardly rude opinions.as you did in the other post. If you absolutely must have an opinion in such a forum leave your email and you will get a response. Note it is considered quite rude.this forum is for tech support not for your personal opinions.

Also Note in forums we do not type in caps.lock.% I suggest learning English may improve you understanding, of comments,& would stop misunderstandings. And polite I would certainly assign points to all who helped me.But i have not asked any questions yet. Now Look what it says in my signature see the words 'all who contribute' now read and understand the signature. And its implications.it is not crying as you state, on the contrary your opinion highlights a lack of decorum on your behalf. Important note%%% by assigning points it keeps the forums alive, that is why the forums were designed this way. Points are actually built into the forums not add ons.and they should be assigned accordingly to the guidelines do not forget this.it is.important, have you read them, if so i strongly suggest you read them again.
